5. Comments 4 Success

5.)Comments4kids was great website used in my EDM310 class. I got a sneak peak of what kind of things students were doing all around the world. Many of these students put on skits and did great projects like doing a world wide recycling project. I would like to take comments4kids and turn it into comments4success for my class. On this website I would like my students to get in groups of there planned occupation. I would ask that each child write a brief description about themselves and what they plan to be when they grow up. I would ask for different people with these occupations to write a few sentences about there job and encourage my students.

4.Google,Google and more Google

4.)Google is a very reliable source. I have been using google throughout my entire college experience and I will continue to use google as a source as a teacher. Whenever I assign homework that has to be done with research I will make Google a required resource.

3.Have Fun Learning with YouTube, iTunes U &Podcast

3.)In school children watch a lot of educational movies and some of these movies are a little outdated. With using iTunesU, Podcast, and Youtube my students will have an opportunity to learn in new fun ways. These websites have numerous educational videos that are great for children and I believe students will love watching these videos on the Internet.

2. Travel Around The World with Google Earth

2.)When children are small they watch cartoons about different places around the world. They might imagine what it would be like to go to that place someday but it might be impossible to them. In my class I will take my class on tours all around the world and let them see how big the world is. Students can even make a google earth tour to show to the class.

1.Stay Connected With Blogs

1.)Blogs are a big hit now. People blog about many different things such as things they have experience and even political views. As a teacher I will use blogs to stayed connected with parents of my students. I believe that it is very important to have a professional relationship with my students parents and staying connected through blogs will be convenient and fun. I will send a slip home on the first day of school telling the parents about this blog and instructions on how to find it. Parents who are not able to contact me through blog are more than welcomed to call me.

My Personal Teaching Philosophy(Technology)

I have posted a teaching philosophy that have my views as far as what values I will follow in my class. This post is my views on how I believe I should use technology in my classroom. The ways things are now, I can not see classroom not using computers in the future. I believe there has to be and will be a change in how students are taught in the future. Future teachers will have to adapt to the 21st century students and I believe that will happen soon. Some technological ideas that I will use in my classroom are: blogs to stay connected with parents, travel around the world with Google Earth, have fun learning with YouTube, iTunesU, and Podcast, Google, Google, and more Google, and Comments4Success.

My Personal Teaching Philosophy(My Values)

Every teacher will have a different personal teaching philosophy and that’s what makes every teacher unique. Each teacher will have their own beliefs on how they think their class should be run and the values they treasure the most for teaching. As a first year teacher, my personal teaching philosophy consists of values such as: respect for others, creativity, collaboration, authority, and commitment. These fives values are the values that as a teacher I see important to have in my classroom.
My first value is respecting others. As a child, I was picked on in school and therefore I hated going to class every day. I believe that all of my students should learn how to respect each other. I want my classroom to be as comfortable as possible for a great learning experience. My second value is creativity because I believe that children should be able to express their emotions through being creative. The art programs are being taken out of the school system and I think that children should be able to express their creative side. I will continue to focus on my core subjects but my class will learn how to do Math, English, etc. in creative and fun ways.
As a teacher, I believe that children can understand some things better when talking to their peers, rather than the teacher. This is why I will use collaboration activities in my class. Collaborating with other students not only let students see how their peers would do problems in different ways that they think would work better for them but also collaboration is a great way for social skills also. My fourth value is a value that I believe that some teachers do not stress enough; authority. I will let my students know that I am here to teach them things that they will hopefully take with them for the rest of their life but I will not tolerate any misbehaving students. I will let them know that I am the adult in the classroom and are to obey my rules are there will be consequences.
My last value is commitment. I promise to all my students that I am committed to helping them be successful no matter what. I will be available after class if my students need me. I want all my students to know that I care about them and I hope that they are successful in life.
